Meet Coach Myles

Baseball has been part of my life for over 20 years. A Long Beach native, I played college ball in West Los Angeles before my talent took me to Florida, where my playing career was based. Back home now, my passion is helping young athletes build confidence, develop their skills, and learn what it takes to succeed both on and off the field.

I specialize in private, one-on-one instruction for players ages 8–18 — hitting, fielding, throwing mechanics, baseball IQ, and the mental side of the game — in a positive environment where athletes improve their fundamentals and compete with confidence.

Parents across Long Beach and Orange County searching for a private baseball coach can start with a free first lesson — no obligation, just a clear plan to get better.

What I Coach

Hitting lessons, fielding, throwing mechanics, and baseball IQ for players ages 8–18 across Long Beach & Orange County.

Hitting

Swing mechanics, timing, and approach that carry into real at-bats.

Fielding

Footwork, glovework, and reads that lock down the defense.

Throwing Mechanics

Arm care, accuracy, and velocity through clean mechanics.

Baseball IQ

Situational awareness and decision-making that win games.

Player Development

Confidence, accountability, and a growth mindset on and off the field.

How Coach Myles Builds a Pitcher

For Coach Myles, pitching starts in the mind. He coaches the mental side first — the sports psychology of competing on the mound — then builds clean mechanics and technique on that foundation. And every pitcher is different: styles, techniques, and coaching are tailored to the athlete.

The Arsenal

Different pitchers master different pitches and styles — every arsenal is built to the athlete. Here are the pitches Myles develops, and the kind of cues he coaches with.

Fastball

“Establish it first”

The foundation every other pitch plays off — command it first, built from the legs and forward.

Two-Seam

“Don't aim it — rip it”

A movement fastball with late, heavy run.

Changeup

“Same arm action”

Mirrors the fastball's arm action so the hitter can't read it — kills timing.

Cutter

“Your swing-and-miss pitch”

Looks like a fastball, breaks late — a true strikeout pitch.

Knuckle Curve

“More tumble”

A breaking ball with depth, dropped into the zone for a called strike.

The Method

Mental game first

The foundation is sports psychology — composure, confidence, and focus on the mound. Every pitch is built on it.

Mechanics on a sound foundation

With the mental base set, Myles builds clean, repeatable mechanics and technique on top of it.

Built to the pitcher

Different pitchers master different styles. Every arsenal, technique, and cue is tailored to the individual athlete.

Film, reps & accountability

Game-film review, game-rep bullpens, and constant feedback — tough when it needs to be, encouraging every good rep.
